چکیده

Is compressive sensing overrated? Or can it live up to our expectations? What will come after compressive sensing and sparsity? And what has Galileo Galilei got to do with it? Compressive sensing has taken the signal processing community by storm. A large corpus of research devoted to the theory and numerics of compressive sensing has been published in the last few years. Moreover, compressive sensing has inspired and initiated intriguing new research directions, such as matrix completion. Potential new applications emerge at a dazzling rate. Yet some important theoretical questions remain open, and seemingly obvious applications keep escaping the grip of compressive sensing. In this paper I discuss some of the recent progress in compressive sensing and point out key challenges and opportunities as the area of compressive sensing and sparse representations keeps evolving. I also attempt to assess the longterm impact of compressive sensing.

STCS-GAF: Spatio-Temporal Compressive Sensing in Wireless Sensor Networks- A GAF-Based Approach

Routing and data aggregation are two important techniques for reducing communication cost of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To minimize communication cost, routing methods can be merged with data aggregation techniques. Compressive sensing (CS) is one of the effective techniques for aggregating network data, which can reduce the cost of communication by reducing the amount of routed data to t...

Sigma Delta Quantization for Compressive Sensing

Compressive sensing is a new data acquisition technique that aims to measure sparse and compressible signals at close to their intrinsic information rate rather than their Nyquist rate. Recent results in compressive sensing show that a sparse or compressible signal can be reconstructed from very few measurements with an incoherent, and even randomly generated, dictionary. To date the hardware i...

Signal Recovery and System Calibration from Multiple Compressive Poisson Measurements

Abstract. The measurement matrix employed in compressive sensing typically cannot be known precisely a priori, and must be estimated via calibration. One may take multiple compressive measurements, from which the measurement matrix and underlying signals may be estimated jointly. This is of interest as well when the measurement matrix may change as a function of the details of what is measured....

Distributed and Cooperative Compressive Sensing Recovery Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks with Bi-directional Incremental Topology

Recently, the problem of compressive sensing (CS) has attracted lots of attention in the area of signal processing. So, much of the research in this field is being carried out in this issue. One of the applications where CS could be used is wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The structure of WSNs consists of many low power wireless sensors. This requires that any improved algorithm for this appli...

What Health System Challenges Should Responsible Innovation in Health Address? Insights From an International Scoping Review

Background While responsible innovation in health (RIH) suggests that health innovations could be purposefully designed to better support health systems, little is known about the system-level challenges that it should address. The goal of this paper is thus to document what is known about health systems’ demand for innovations.   Methods We searched 8 databases to perfo...
